Duane joined the TCG Development Group in August of 2012. Born and raised in Wichita he attended Wichita State University where he received his Degree in Finance.
His first job after college started at Bank IV (now Bank of America) in the accounting department of Bankcard center. He quickly moved his way up to the Manager of Bankcard accounting department where he managed both the merchant and cardholder side, while being part of the acquisition team that transitioned the assets of newly purchased banks.
After the buyout of Bank IV he moved to the Hospitality industry and joined Summerfield Hotel Corp (now LodgeWorks), where we did property accounting for multiple hotels while traveling and conducting accounting audits at all Summerfield Suites and Sierra Suites throughout the United States. Through the years Duane became the “go to” person for all accounting questions from the field and home office, earning him the affectionate name of “Money”. After the sale of the generation one group of Sierra Suites, Duane single handedly collected $11 million of outstanding accounts receivable with only $5,000 written off to bad debt. Summerfield changed their name to LodgeWorks and expanded into a multi-brand hospitality management company, managing brands like Hyatt Place, Hilton Gardens, Hawthorn Suites, Summerfield Suites, Hotel Sierra and AVIA. Duane continued to work with upper management to acquire and bring on hotels to the LW portfolio.
After 15 years in Hospitality he joined TGC Development Group to lead the teams hotel accounting of the 4 Value Place hotels and take on asset management of the existing and future VPs. He looks forward to expanding his role as this company expands its portfolio.
In his spare time he and his bride, Kelly, like fix up old houses, travel and dabble in photography. Duane has 2 sons that keep him on the go with sporting events and two grown stepchildren. His favorite destinations are New York City and Colorado; talk about two complete opposites!
